Now onto this game on Saturday where Iowa is at home in Kinnick Stadium laying three and a half points against Indiana. 18th ranked Iowa 17th ranked Indiana… so on paper, it looks close. Iowa likes to run the ball down the field they’re conservative. Indiana likes to throw it around a little bit. Quarterback Michael Penix was great last year! They were probably one of the most exciting offenses in the country when he was in. They scored at least 24 points in every single game where he started. When he was out with an injury, 14 and 20 points! So they just bogged down, they were not the same. They changed some blocking schemes and I think it’s going to help out the offense in the running game a whole lot this year compared to last year.

Their defense also, they’ve got two lockdown cornerbacks in Williams and Mullen. These two guys allow them to blitz more. They get pressure on the quarterback, it’s 17 sacks last year in eight games also 25 sacks, I don’t think you i can even remember the last time they had 25 sacks after eight games in a season so that was just against conference opponents! Quite impressive!

They’re also going to be focused! They’re all in three straight up and against the spread. The last three times they faced Iowa, this is a big game for this program here! Now, still going to be solid but I don’t see the pass rush. I don’t see the same pass rush as the last couple years. They lost three or four starters there to graduation so I don’t know if they can match up with the receivers here for Indiana. The speed and the play calling, excellent for Indiana here.
